This is just a reminder the Munford Get Outdoors Day at the Munford elementary School is this Saturday may 12 at 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Just four short hours of all the flying one wants to do. This is an event our club participated in last year and it was a hot weekend so that is the reason moved back to this date. It was a fun weekend . a great way to show off your planes and have a good time. We plan to clean up close to 1:00 P.M. and go to the Golden Corral on the way home and have lunch.

The address is 365 Cedars Road, Munford Al 36268. The easiest way is up I 20 to Anniston, Oxford exit to Cedars road and across the road from Munford Elementary school. Any questions call me 205-629-3869.

The Meeting for May 19 Th will  be cancelled due to so many members being out of town that weekend. it would be a shame to have a cookout and all our our members not be able to participate in an event that we only have once a year!!!

Hi Guys!!!

First of all Wesley would like to have a drive to collect our club dues for 2012 that are due this month so we can ave a better understanding of our membership. I know we have lost a few due to health reasons and would like to sell their equipment . Bob Abernathy and George Bearden so if anyone is interested contact these guys.

May 5 Saturday is the Pylon race at the Morris club that starts off at 9:00 A.M.

May 12 is our Annual Mumford Get Outdoors Day that we supported last year. Starts at 9:00A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Only four hours and a great field to fly off of and the best of all is we gather at Golden Corral after finished for the great buffet they offer!!!

May 19 Saturday will be our monthly club meeting since I will be away the normal weekend we have the meetings. The best of all bring a plane and fly and enjoy a good hamburger and hot dog FREEE from our club. A chance to get together and have a good outing and friendship!!!!

Lastly we have had a dump truck load of good sand dumped out of the way for us to spread on the rough strips and holes on our field. So if bored bring a shovel and rake and spread on the much needed spots so it all will be smooth.

Be sure and join us for a work day at the flying field to start cleaning up for this flying season. We will be cutting brush, working on the road, and trimming trees so be sure and bring some tools for these tasks and a good pair of work gloves.

Hi Guys!!!

it is time for our monthly meeting and the election of officers for 2012. Saturday, February 11th 9:00a.m. at Jacks Restaurant on Moody Parkway . This will be the second saturday of the month. This will be our first meeting that we have had for this year and hopefully have a standing time and place for our meetings until spring and have them at our club . I tried other restaurants and didn’t have a warm reception to this plan. The manager at Jacks welcomed us and offered a ten percent discount . We can have breakfast and coffee and hold a meeting in the warm so thought this would be a fun time and event that all could attend.

It is time for our yearly election of officers and vote in the persons that will be an asset for our club in the upcoming year. Hopefully we have a good turnout and have a say who represents the Bama Flyers club.

We have two entrys for a business card for our club that we can vote on and pass out for prosprective members.

We have been fortunate this year to have had the oppurtunity to still fly in thr winter months. As a matter of fact had a god turnout today and had a great day to fly. I am sure that the flying days are numbered until spring so we are taking advantage of the opportunities.

Hopefully we have a great turnout and have a fun meeting!!

I am proud to say thank you guys for being able to serve you this past year as president of Bama Flyers Club. We have had our last club meeting for the year and will have a meeting and elect club officers for the 2012 year in January to be announced.

Thank each and everyone for making this a great year. We had been invited to Munford Outdoor day and had a good participation at this event. The kids and parents enjoyed our event.

Thanks to Tony’s son in law, we now have a good road to get in and out of our field.

We have been able to increase the interest in our hobby and have increased our membership . And thanks to our many generous members that have donated their time to help many of our new members learn to fly and able to solo and enjoy flying on their own.

This has been a wonderful year and looking forward to an awesome 2012.

Hi Guys!!!!

i would like to thank each and every one who made this monthly meeting a huge success. I think this was a very informing and successful meeting and was a fun morning for me. We have had a good crowd showing up on a Saturday morning and having a great day of flying. Unfortunately our flying days are probably numbered and this will be our last meeting for the year. Our next meeting will be the second Saturday in January to be announced. this will be an election meeting for our officers for the next year so bethinking who you want to represent our club for the next year!!

Hi Guys,

November 12 Saturday at 9:00 at the club field. Hopefully weather permitting we can hold a monthly  meeting and get together . If we have in climate weather we can retreat to Cracker Barrel restaurant and have a wonderful breakfast and get together.This should be another fun event.

The weather has been great and had a lot of opportunities to fly. The participation on the weekends has been great , it is good to see our field being used.

We have Eric and Wesley participating in pylon Racing and this last event at Morris was a lot of fun. looking forward to the Huntsville race in November.

Remember this Saturday the fly in and swap meet at the Ashville club. It looks as if there will be a few of our members attending. See you There!!
